Site Update: Marinas and Moorings section launched

Hello everyone, we have been working behind the scenes on a brand new Marinas and Moorings directory.  You may have noticed the new link appear on the menu section, well  I can finally reveal what we have been up to.  The new narrowboat moorings section is aimed at helping boaters find moorings on the move and also leave feedback and reviews to help other boaters find good mooring spots.  I remember our first narrowboat holiday, we spent hours looking through the canal guides to find the next mooring or marina to park up for the night.  Some good, some bad and we struggled to know what facilities were available before mooring-up.   Our new map search and services filtering should make it easier to find moorings near you and on your route moving along the canal.

Marinas and Moorings saerch features available:

  • Marina location – with a mobile friendly map search to find a mooring on the move
  • Instant directions to the marina via Google Maps
  • Services available on-site
  • Quick access contact information for the marina to enable you to phone/email ahead to find a mooring
  • Ratings and reviews of marinas and moorings – to enable fellow boaters to leave feedback.
  • Cruisemoor scheme member – find marinas that are members of the newly launched cruisemoor scheme.
  • Sort moorings by services available, location and ratings.

In the pipeline we will be also adding the following features:

  • On-site cafe or pub – always good to know if there is good pub near the mooring)
  • Rubbish and recycling facilities – this one has been a request from a member and we will be adding this feature very shortly.

If you own a marina or mooring and would like to be listed in our directory, then please add your business here (It’s 100% free).  If you have any feedback or would like to request any additional features then please give us a shout using the contact section on the site.  We would love to get some feedback.
