Road House Narrowboats is a family-run narrowboat hire company based in Gilwern, near Abergavenny in South Wales, on the beautiful Monmouthshire & Brecon Canal. With a fleet of five comfortable, fully equipped boats sleeping between 2 and 5 people, they offer relaxing self-catering holidays for couples, families and friends. Beginners are very welcome, with guidance provided before you set off, and most of the boats are dog-friendly too, so you can bring your four-legged companion along for the adventure.

From Gilwern, you can cruise north towards Brecon, enjoying spectacular views of the surrounding mountains, peaceful countryside and charming canal-side villages. Alternatively, head south towards Five Locks for a quieter cruise through the Welsh countryside. Whether you're planning a short break or a longer escape, the Monmouthshire & Brecon Canal is perfect for taking things slowly, enjoying waterside pubs, exploring local walking routes and discovering the natural beauty of the Brecon Beacons.
