The Horny Toad 2 Verified listing

‘The Horny Toad 2 ‘ is a 57ft Traditional stern narrowboat, built by the renowned Peter Nicholls in 1991 and represents an excellent 'turnkey liveaboard'.

A well-loved and carefully maintained boat, she has been in the same ownership for the past 31 years and has been continuously upgraded and improved throughout that time. The boat is powered by an impressive and meticulously maintained Russell Newbery DM2 two-cylinder engine, coupled to a Newage PRM gearbox.

The hull has been regularly maintained, with blacking carried out every two years, most recently in August 2026. Recent upgrades include the installation of Caldwell double-glazed anti-condensation windows, while the boat was professionally repainted at Norbury Wharf approximately 7 years ago. ‘The Horny Toad 2′ is now being offered for sale for the first time in over 30 years, representing a rare opportunity to acquire a traditional narrowboat with an impressived engine.
