Description
Lily is a distinctive 33ft Inspection Launch-style narrowboat, built in 1997 by the highly respected Peter Nicholls, one of the most renowned boatbuilders of his era. Crafted to an exceptionally high standard, she showcases quality workmanship throughout, while her elegant design ensures she stands out on the network.
Significant recent upgrades include a full professional repaint in 2024, where the hull was grit blasted back to bare metal and treated with three coats of two-pack epoxy.
The Inspection Launch design is inspired by historic working craft used during the canal era by company directors for formal inspections of their waterways. This elegant and characterful style offers a refreshing alternative to the conventional narrowboat layout, while still retaining all the practical benefits of inland cruising.
At just 33ft in length, Lily is exceptionally easy to handle and manoeuvre. She benefits from wheel steering in the fore cabin, along with the added versatility of a second steering position on the rear deck.
