Kingfisher Narrowboat (previously called Kingfisher Too) in immaculate order
This is a truly unique boat with the Fox spacious layout and features one does not see nowadays. It was built for a show in Northampton and only had one owner before us.
Style: Traditional with bow bench seats, 4 berth with ¾ mahogany single-poster bed (unique to Fox) and two bunks in lounge area
Built by Charlie Fox yard number 71 Year 1993 Registration G14257 48ft 3” length 10/6/3 steel gauges
Unique spacious lounge and kitchen with solid mahogany cupboards with finger pulls; hard to find on any other boats. Bathroom with toilet to pump-out tank , washbasin and shower.
Unique Fox Boats secret bottle store in table.
Leaded decorated and illuminated raised cupboards dividing kitchen and lounge areas very elegantly. Reading lamps as well as main cabin lights.
Privacy door to bathroom & bedroom
Ford XLD 1.6 litre diesel engine nominally 36 bhp. Cooling by hull radiator.
New PRM Gearbox fitted with updated strong input splines . At the same time the two propeller shaft support bearings were replaced and a new flexible coupling fitted.
3.5 Kw Bow Thruster a very useful device and not on many canal boats.
New (May 2024) heavy duty engine battery for future long-term benefit

Ellis gas boiler heats hot water and cabin via cabin radiator and large diameter copper pipes. The hot water and radiator is also heated from the engine cooling system so the Ellis is rarely used
Boatman fire fitted to burn logs or approved solid fuel.
Gas refrigerator replaced with new large 3-way Dometic refrigerator with gas use approval letter from the BSS organisation. Gas is far more efficient but not fitted to new boats.
As new Techimpex Gas hob, and Prima oven and separate grill fitted
Boat hook, barge pole and gang-plank included.
There are also a pair of strong oak racks available for the boat roof for carrying eg. bicycles, coal, sun bathers etc!
Temporary front and rear doors available to remove existing for painting.
TV Aerial included with mounting on hull with cable to desk area.
Radio with Cd and cassette player. Possibility of folding bicycle for refurbishment.
